Michèle Newton is a renowned communicator turned speaker, advocate and educational consultant, driving inclusion and belonging. Building inclusion from a bi-racial perspective, Michèle’s bold, forward-thinking approach provides clients and audiences with a new lens on inclusion and diversity.

Spreading inspiration far beyond her local community, Michèle remains a social entrepreneur passionate about empowering equitable leadership and fostering dynamic conversations through her various social enterprises.

Guided by her “better together” philosophy, Michèle is focused on growing relationships, nurturing collaborations and facilitating partnerships, especially those with a shared focus on strengthening community. With the Black Lives Matter movement and heightened awareness of systemic racism impacting all sectors, ensuring communicators develop and hone the effectiveness of their cross-cultural communications couldn’t be more important. The intersection of Michèle's public, private and corporate sector communications background with her community-based diversity and inclusion work enables her to provide clients unique insights and leading expertise.

As a community changemaker, Michèle created Our Mosaic Lives™  - a passion project exploring diversity and inclusion, launched Community Conversations – a live D&I interview series, and co-founded Making Change - a non-profit organization focused on awareness, education and exposure to Black people, Black culture and anti-Black racism; and contributes a monthly Diversity and Inclusion Opinion column to Simcoe.com.

Recognized for her advocacy, Michèle was honoured as one of 100 Accomplished Black Canadian Women and as a Peace Champion by the YMCA of Simcoe Muskoka.
